I have been a successful Subject Leader/Head of Department for Psychology for 26 years. Due to this vast experience, I am effective at refining sessions to suit the needs of each individual tutee to boost performance.
I also have experience of home tutoring and teaching online during the pandemic.
I can tailor each session to the desired outcome required by each student. Focus could be recapping/explaining troublesome topics, working on study skills, revision strategies or exam requirements and practice. I prefer using a variety of teaching and learning strategies, which are differentiated and interesting - I am enthusiastic and passionate in my approach to teaching. I am commended for the level commitment and care I offer.
I believe the key to success at A-level is two-fold; making Psychology relevant and enjoyable to the tutee alongside raising student confidence with the subject and examination requirements.
Most of my experience is with the AQA A-level Psychology Specification - it is with this qualification that I excel in supporting students.
